Diev,
I'm in. I need practice for the comps and want to transition to pro-towing. I'd be up for 5-10 tows. april 4 or 5 works for me.

nice, looks like we are a little over 25 tows (a few more people would be nice though)...

now lets keep an eye on the weather for that weekend (4-5)... (here is one site)

we could all pitch in again and have another spot landing contest :-))...

Did I miss the place where this is happening? Where is it?

Also, if we get an AT instructor, would we be able to tow on first day? Does anybody know an AT instructor?

Thanks,
Marcelo

New Jerusalem in Tracy is where we will be...(although I would like to talk to you about that airstrip)
The format for new AT students was to do a ground school early (8am-ish) with hands on training and then if the winds were still calm(er) to have them start some tows.....
But it depends on the Instructor...most should have you do a tandem with them also.
Give Paris Williams or Eric Beckman a call....(they are the only two in region 2 according to this list)...not sure what they charges (but the tow cost would be on top of that cost).
Here is the link to the list on USHPA (with phone their numbers)
(it would be nice to get them out there anyway)

Either an AT Administrator or Supervisor would do...Paul was a supervisor.

(Mike - not sure what to tell ya---(don't go, and help get Paris to come out to NJ (but I bet you have your tickets all ready :-((

If anyone is interested, I have Towing releases (Double and Single) for sale. I bought them few years back from Quest Air (Bob Lane). I have never used them. The Double release has Shimano release handle. I payed about $180 for both. Will give it away for $100. I will be at Ed this Saturday, will bring it with me.

I'm sure that's the way, though I've never been ballast before, I'm sure that part would make me a bit uneasy..

I emailed them both (I'll hassle them by phone if I don't hear back by Monday), maybe something will work out. I'd really like to try AT and be ready for these opportunities. It'd be cheaper than a trip to Wallyworld, and we could rally a few pilots I'm sure.
