I'll send him a note and see if he can post here....
Also today Mike J was saying he knew of someone?

I started a new thread just for those who need an AT rating. Please go there and sign up if you can make the tentative clinic! We won't know for sure until Wednesday if Billy can make it down and put on the clinic, but it would be nice to give him a more accurate pilot count.

Diev is thinking clinic in the morning and Hot Doggers in the afternoon!

....actually us hot doggers will be in the air in the am with the calm(er) air also...We will just form a line and all be ready to go.....
after talking to Rich P. in Tracy, we could get an ST tow rig out there if some pilots just want that?? (post here if you are interested, and I'll get Rich to wach/post here)

Just want to second Diev's comment - I'll be knocking the rust off my AT skills, so flying in the morning calm air will be very desirable :-)

High again everyone,

Gregg Minolli, Diev Hart, and myself. Would like to welcome and invite new pilots to the New J 2nd annual Tow Jam. All pilots are welcome to join us for fun safe flying. The criteria are as follows.

Beg. pilot to hg1-(Flight deck)only.

Novice pilots with log book and surface tow experience-(Scooter tow + dolly launch)only. With flight deck check off.

Hg 3 on up-(Aerotow)

For AT rated pilots only, who have never towed with Gregg. You must first exibit flight skills and meet all checkoffs as follows.

1)PIO run (flight deck)
2)Dolly tow (600 cc scooter)
3)Radio coms. with ground crew
4)Flight log book
5)All flights and operations are subject to change. Based on weather conditions*

If any pilot shows lack of pilot skill or does not pass the PIO run. Further support and instrcution will be available.

All tows are first determined and approved by ground crew operations (myself). All AT tows are completely and ultimately at the discretion of the tow pilot (Gregg Minolli).

I will be updating this list as the week progresses.

Thank you all from the crews of
Dive high hanggliding-
Tow Jam experts-
Dive up aerotow-
;) :D

I'm planning to come out but have a couple of questions...

(1) I don't have a tow release... as suggested by Diev in his post, I contacted Blue Skies, but they're all out of them and are currently ordering from Quest or Wallaby; so, will there be any available there?

(2) Directions to New Jerusalem airport?

(3) What time will activities start?

Thanks,

Al

Hey Al,
I have a release you and others can share.
We will be getting started very early Sat morning...8ish.....(and a ground school for non rated pilots might even start earlier)

Here is the google map..

http://maps.google.com/maps?q=E+Durham+ ... -A&split=0

and here is my map...
Image

We will have some sort of marker (windsock) on the pole by the road.....and we will have the Gate open.
It is a very open area (why we like it for towing) so it should be easy to spot us (unless there is fog)..
