Most of the time when the media gets it wrong they mistake a paraglider accident for hang gliding, but this is the first where they confused a skydiving accident for a hang gliding accident.
I was there that day towing when the sky diver broke his leg. We had to stop towing until the helicopter came to haul him away.

We get lots of excitement watching the skydivers- about six months ago I was watching a really late sunset skydive when I saw what I thought was someone firing bottle rockets at the skydivers. When we finished packing up and went to the gate we found the power lines that run along the road had been severed by a skydiver cutting off power to a wide area. Some of the falling wires damaged a students car. The amazing thing is that the skydiver escaped unscathed!
