Editor's Psycotic Ramblings
Hi kids! Uncle Colin is back to work here at the FlightLine, busy clickin all them there computers keys that the voices tell me to click, which somehow mainfests itself into all the news that's fit to eat (wholesum, organic, and non-fatting). Carrying on in the grand tradition of W.R.Hurst, Rupert Murdick, and Ted Turner, making my fame and fortune in the news media.... Hope y'all enjoy lining your bird cage with this issue at least 1/2 as much as I enjoy composing it.
Spring does indeed apear to be here. With great sadness last week I packed up my ski up gear into the rafters of my garage, there to patiently collect dust till next Thanksgiving, the day when all die-hard ski addicts give thanks for the opening day of the local ski hill. But while in the attic I was gleefully dusting off the summertime camping & flying & rafting gear in prep for some fun times and crazy road trips.
(gotta go now.. be right back, gotta phone call from a cute gal who is in need of dinner and hopefully dessert)
back now, several hours later with a smile.... Where was I? Oh yeah, Spring. Was up at Mission cruzin at squirrel-hunting altitude last week, between sneezing fits was admiring the yellows and purples blots of colour that adorne our hillsides this time of year. I've been checking the calendars and making big travel plans to make it to some fun flying events this season, not as many as when I am totally unemployed but hopefully enough to have some fun.
We started the Spring season with the semi-annual WOR ERLCP picnic, where it suprizingly did not rain! Plenty of food and beer and entertainment, including a spot-landing contest with the cone placed 50 feet up the lake side of a eucaliptus tree. Most flyers wisely avoided trying to land on the spot, but one kid totally nailed it dead centre. Much thanks to Cram & Lynn for hosting this fine event.
Whoops, outta room, more next month.....
